Lessons Learned from Passover

I do have a lot of reasons why I don't post as often on my blog. Last week's reason was trying to clean the house and prepare the Passover meal while my husband as out of town in California for a week.

Anyway, just thought I'd post a Lessons Learned.

Never hold a Matzah in one hand and a wood sample in another.

  • Sounds like it could be hard on your teeth.

  • Not too tasty if it's a stained sample.

  • Try a little salt... or some horseradish. We had several bowls of horseradish this year, including one my sister in law always brings that she describes as fresh, "high octane" horseradish. That's always the best one, and as i love hot foods, that's always the one I use.

So this year I slathered a big heaping spoonful a half-inch thick on my matzoh and shoved the entire thing into my mouth.

I swear to God, Elijah could have walked through the door at that moment blowing on a tuba and wearing a pink tutu and I wouldn't have noticed. All I could see was sparkling bright lights, and there was a roaring sound in my ears. My entire nasal cavity instantly became a molten mass and blew out my ears.

The one thing about horseradish is that, unlike hot pepper, the effect goes KABOOM! and then twenty seconds later you're fine.

So, of course, I went back for more...
